Who Is Sam Bahadur?

Sam Bahadur was field marshal & his real name is “Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw.” He was Parsi chief staff of Indian army during Indo-Pak War 1971.

Why is Sam Manekshaw so famous?

He is widely regarded as the architect of India’s victory and the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. Manekshaw served in the Indian Army for more than four decades and fought bravely in a total of five wars – World War II (1942), Indo-Pak War (1947), Sino-Indian War (1962 ), the Indo-Pak War (1965), and the Bangladesh Liberation War (1971). Known to have cheated death countless times during his tenure, he received some of the most prestigious awards including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and the Military Cross of Valor (World War II). So, he was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal.

Filming:

The film was shot over two years in 13 locations in India covering four decades of the life of Sam Manekshaw. Filming took place in Mumbai, Pune, Jodhpur, Pataudi, Chandigarh, Ooty, Coonoor, Dehradun, Kolkata, Patiala, Srinagar, Pahalgam & Delhi. Movie wrapped on 14 March 2023.

Music:

The music of the film is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy & while lyrics are written by Gulzar. The first single titled “Badhte Chalo” was released on 13 November 2023 & The second single titled “Banda” will release on 22 November 2023.
